Our Mission
Did Jews invent laughter? Maybe!
Do we need to laugh right now more than ever? Absolutely!
The Shalom Collaboration utilizes improvisation; both in performance and as skill-based training, to inspire joy, learning, and laughter in Jewish groups of all sizes and ages. With decades of work in Chicago’s vaunted improv, sketch, and musical comedy scene, (and even more decades as born-and-raised-Jews) co-founders Katie and T.J. draw on their network of top-tier entertainers to create customized, performances and learning, from an authentically Jewish perspective.
Our Team
Co-Founders Katie Klein and T.J. Shanoff began their collaboration at The Second City in Chicago, creating and performing in original improv, sketch and musical comedy shows, many of which were specifically designed for Jewish organizations and audiences. In 2020, Katie and T.J. launched The Shalom Collaboration to chart their own path, collaborating directly with directly with with Synagogues and Jewish groups to create memorable experiences. With access to some of the best improvisers and team building facilitators in the world, we’ll make your celebratory/awards event or team building more joyful and inspiring. (How’s that for chutzpah?)
